Understanding Challenges Faced by Underserved Populations

Event Location:
LIV - Tillet Hall - 111 L

The Rutgers Learning Centers provide training sessions throughout the semester for any academic peer leader at Rutgers (tutors, study group leaders, peer instructors, learning assistants, etc.). RLC tutors and learning assistants are required to participate in at least two of these sessions, in addition to the initial New Peer Leader Training. If you work as an academic peer leader for another program at RU, you are also welcome to participate in our trainings. Each training session will address a specific topic and will involve activities and group discussion.

In this workshop, you will learn about the challenges facing low-income, first generation, and underserved populations. Better understanding the academic challenges faced by students will help you to better understand how to address their needs and teach them strategies for success.

To register for this training session, visit our workshop registration page.

If you have any questions regarding the training sessions, please contact Stacey Blackwell.
