In order to understand why students react to you the way they do, and why they may seem less motivated than you expect, you have to understand what learning means to different people and why students take the courses they do. It's also important to understand their reactions to stress and failure, as these reactions often manifest themselves during tutoring and study group sessions. In this workshop, you will learn about student motivation and how to best help students to remain motivated and focused.

This session is open to anyone who is a peer leader (tutor, study group leader, mentor, academic coach, etc.) at Rutgers University.

Peer leaders can sign up for a training event here.

Faculty and staff members, contact us if you would like us to schedule a similar session for your peer leaders.

Please contact Stacey Artman with any questions or concerns.
