Stacey Blackwell, Senior Director
Stacey Blackwell earned her M.A in English from The College of New Jersey, her Ed.M. in the Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education from Rutgers University, and her B.A. in English with a minor in Spanish and concentration in Education from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. After teaching English and composition courses at several PA and NJ colleges and universities, Stacey returned to Rutgers in 2011. She worked as the Director of Training, Outreach, and Academic Coaching before becoming the Senior Director of the Rutgers Learning Centers & Math and Science Learning Center. She also co-teaches the pedagogy course (Peer Instruction Education) required for all first-semester learning assistants.
Mary Ann Cancio, Director of Operations and Direct Academic Support
Mary Ann Cancio earned her Ed.M. from Rutgers University and her B.A. from Rutgers College, Rutgers University. She holds a Certificate in Supervisory Management, NJ Certified Public Manager Program, Department of Personnel, State of NJ. Mary Ann has over 30 years experience in Higher Education in both Student Affairs and Academic Support. Before coming to Rutgers in 1996, Mary Ann worked at St. Peter's College from 1980 - 1982, and The College of NJ from 1982 - 1996. Mary Ann currently directs the Academic Peer Tutoring Program for the Rutgers Learning Centers.
Karen Collingwood, Administrative Coordinator, Kreeger Learning Center
Karen Collingwood has been working at Rutgers since 1988. She is the Administrative Coordinator of the Kreeger Learning Center and she is responsible for scheduling all writing appointments, as well as managing center personnel, maintenance, and administration. She also handles space management and communications for the Center.
Dr. Mary Emenike, Director of STEM Support
Mary Emenike earned her Ph.D. in chemistry education research (CER) from Miami University and her B.S. degree in chemistry from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. Mary coordinates the Learning Assistant Program and co-teaches the pedagogy course (Peer Instruction Education) required for all first-semester learning assistants. Mary provides chemistry content training to peer leaders and support for learning in STEM fields to program staff who work with students taking STEM courses. Read more about

Samantha Feaser, Administrative Coordinator, Livingston Learning Center
Samantha Jones Feaser earned her B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University in 2011. While completing her undergraduate degree Samantha tutored privately and worked in HR. She returned to Rutgers in May 2012 and became the Administrative Assistant and the Supervisor at the Kreeger Learning Center and is now the Administrative Coordinator of the Livingston Learning Center. Through her position, Samantha is developing her Higher Education, Student Affairs, Student Development, and Staff Development skills. She is currently pursuing her masters for an Ed.M in Educational Leadership through the Rutgers Graduate School of Education.
Cietta George, Principal Secretary, Cook/Douglass learning Center
Cietta George is the Principal Secretary for the Cook/Douglass Learning Center. She is responsible for scheduling academic coaching appointments, as well as managing center maintenance and administration. She also handles space management and communications for the Center
Sari Katzen, Program Coordinator
Sari Katzen earned her M.S. in Biology from the College of Staten Island in 2015 and her B.A. in Biological Sciences from Rutgers University in 2013. Sari is the Program Coordinator for STEM Support. She has worked at the Learning Centers since fall 2012 as a Learning Assistant for Physics 193/ 194, as an Academic Coach in the Rutgers Learning Centers, and as the Program Coordinator for the NSF-funded project: Preparation in STEM Leadership (PSL). Lucille Lu, Developmental Specialist
Lucille Lu earned her Ed.M in Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education from the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University, and her B.A. in Economics also at Rutgers University. Lucille currently oversees academic coaching and workshops at the Rutgers Learning Centers. She also co-teaches the pedagogy course (Peer Instruction Education) required for all first-semester learning assistants.
Dr. Shawn Taylor, Director of Assessment and Writing Coaching
Shawn Taylor earned his D.Ed. in Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education from the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University, and his M.A. in Labor Studies and Employment Relations from the School of Management and Labor Relations also at Rutgers University. Shawn directs the Writing Coaching Program, oversees assessment of learning center programs.
