FAQs

Is there a charge for tutoring?

No. All RLC services are free of charge to RU students, faculty, and staff.

Can I have the contact information for a specific tutor?

Our tutors are students too, so to respect their privacy and protect their rights, we do not distribute their contact information. If you would like to communicate with a specific tutor, please visit a center during his/her hours or call 848-932-1443 to speak to the director of the Tutoring Program.

Can I arrange for tutoring in a specific subject?

Yes. You can schedule a one-on-one appointment or visit any of the centers during a time when a drop-in tutor is available for your course. View the tutoring schedule.

What do I if the subject I need help in is not listed?

Call 848-932-1443 to speak to the director of the Tutoring Program.

How do I schedule a workshop for my group, class, or organization?

Students: submit a workshop request for your group or organization.

Faculty and staff: submit a workshop request for your program, department, or class.

I am a staff member and would like to discuss how my office can partner with the LCs.

We're always excited to discuss new partnerships. Please call 848-445-0984 to set up a meeting or use this form to submit your request.

Can I check out videos to view at home?

Unfortunately you cannot take the videos home/dorm for viewing. They can be viewed ONLY in the Classrooms and Video Rooms at the Learning Centers with available VCRs and TVs. Because our Video Rooms holds up to 4-5 students, we welcome groups. At the end of viewing, please rewind the videotape and return it to the Front Desk.
